If someone came to your door or contacted you

When someone contacts you unexpectedly, it’s important to slow down and document what happened.
You’re not required to sign anything or give permission immediately.

Below is the first step checklist. Keep it for yourself—nothing is shared yet.

📝 First Step Checklist

Write down:

✔ Who contacted you (name or company)
✔ The date and time
✔ How they contacted you (phone, email, visit)
✔ What they asked for
✔ Whether they mentioned documents or rights

Optional but helpful:

✔ Take a photo of any business card
✔ Write down what YOU said
✔ Note whether they pressured you

🚨 Don’t do these yet:

❌ Don’t sign documents
❌ Don’t verbally authorize access
❌ Don’t agree on the spot
❌ Don’t assume they already have rights

Print this and start collecting info --- it helps later if someone contacts you again

Each path takes less than 2 minutes
